Hello Tammy

Bought a new lens tonight for my dSLR. Tamron 17-50mm f2.8. I’ve been wanting something for a while that would go a bit wider while still keep on an open aperture and also don’t want to change lenses that much so think it was a good buy.

Did some testing after I bought it. Want to do more street photography but it’s something I’m not particularly good at. There were a few shots I missed from just being too slow, not having balls or being noticed when I didn’t want to be. Oh well.

Think I might fall in love with the lens though. While it’s not that interesting of a shot there’s something about the crispness in the third shot that I’m really impressed by. The f2.8 had no problems shooting on the streets at night either. 800ISO with a nice fast shutterspeed.
Lighting isn’t photoshopped btw. B&W or colour. dunno what i prefer:

  4. Yo Tim,
Shots looking killer as always. Have to agree and say the colour one, but only by a whisker. Hope things are swell mate, I’m madly mixing tunes for an August release!
    Cheers.

  9. I picked up a Tamron 17-50 2.8 lenses a few weeks ago… it rapidly became my favorite (at half the price of the Nikon version).

I have to go against the other commenters… shot 1 has such a classic feel that it would be my pick, but the rest are all interesting shots worth a second and third look.

  10. Great stuff, Tim! For me, shot 2 is what it’s all about - although the detail in shot 3 holds my attention. Let’s have some more when you can!
