started up another blog, this time a sketch blog.
I’ve found it quite useful having an animation process diary. It’s easy to see where I’ve gone wrong, and in some ways helps to keep me going. It’ll get more interesting once I start moving onto complete + illustrations. But I won’t be rushing that.
But anyway, the more I read the John K blog the more it got me thinking about character design + illustration, and the more it got me thinking critically about illustrations I see and do. I now think a lot of people have learnt how to polish an illustration but lack building a character properly in the earlier stages. I’m currently going through the famous Preston Blair book as it seems to be unanimously voted as THE drawing book for animation, but won’t be getting to the animation section for sometime I think.
